I was going to replace it with a SATA drive, but I don't see a place to mount it. She doesn't need NVMe speed and those tiny 2230 SSDs are

Mount?! Those SATA SSDs are light enough to just get hung by the SATA cables ;)

You'd have guessed incorrectly, then. I did look at it, but had my hands full. I'd go back and confirm, but I don't care that much any more since

Often times the front ports just aren't as good because they are "extended" from the motherboard with shitty wires. The ones in the back are ports straight on the board.

If it were mine, I'd use double-sided adhesive squares and call it a
day. This was my wife's PC, all I'd need is for the drive cables to
wiggle their way loose to disconnecting when I'm at work. :(

    ... Would anybody want it?

Had a frustrating experience with this several months back. parents needed a backup system, got a dell from ~2015 for
30 bucks refurbished -- only issue is the USBs in the front just plain did not work, opened it up and saw the wires
to the front were damn near sheared. Didn't need 'em, didn't even bother to fix them. wasted 5 minutes of my life
on that bios menu wondering why it wouldn't boot though :\
